Job Description

We’re looking for a dynamic and hands-on Fabricator Support Manager to lead our dedicated team in supporting fabricators with the setup, maintenance, optimization, and improvement of manufacturing environments producing APL products. This role is a blend of leadership, technical expertise, and relationship management – ensuring machinery, tooling, and systems are optimally integrated to drive performance, productivity, and efficiency across our network of customer sites. You’ll be at the forefront of supporting fabricators, solving challenges, and delivering continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities would be to:

  • Lead, manage, and develop a skilled team delivering machinery, tooling, and product training to fabricators.
  • Drive performance and efficiency by providing expert advice and training to fabricators.
  • Allocate resources and delegate tasks to ensure timely and effective support.
  • Take ownership of urgent and critical situations, providing swift, effective solutions.
  • Assist with machinery setup, maintenance, and breakdown repairs for customer equipment.
  • Carry out factory visits and audits.
  • Initiate and lead improvement projects with customers to boost productivity.

The successful candidate will also have the following:

  • Comprehensive background in lean manufacturing principals and their application.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
  • Technical expertise in tooling and machinery, including hands-on installation and maintenance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop, communicate, and implement results-based solutions.
