Warehouse Operations

We’re looking for a true leader who’s passionate about developing people as much as delivering results. If you thrive on building capability, driving improvement, and shaping the future of a leading New Zealand manufacturer, this is your opportunity.

Job Description

The Role

As Production Manager, you’ll be a key member of the Operations Team, overseeing all daytime Finished Goods operations. You’ll lead a large, skilled team responsible for delivering a significant share of the country’s windows “In Full, On Time, and In Spec”.

Your success will come from strong leadership, clear goals, and a focus on building capability at every level. This is your chance to take ownership, make your mark, and help write the next chapter of APL’s success story.

Desired Skills and Experience

About APL

At APL, we’re more than New Zealand’s market leader in window and door systems — we’re a community of innovators, makers, and problem-solvers based in the heart of the Waikato.

We design, manufacture, and deliver the systems that help shape New Zealand’s homes and skylines. Our success is built on people who care — about quality, about progress, and about each other.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, motivate, and develop Team Leaders and Production staff to deliver daily goals and long-term growth.
  • Drive operational performance — improving efficiency and quality across all warehouse operations.
  • Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Planning, Manufacturing, and Quality to ensure smooth communication and problem-solving.
  • Be a visible leader for Health & Safety — proactive, practical, and people-focused.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience leading large production teams in warehouse, logistics, or finished goods environments.
  • A people-first leadership style — you know how to inspire, develop, and get the best from your team.
  • A continuous improvement mindset — always asking, “How can we do this better?”
  • Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.
  • A genuine commitment to building a safe, positive, and high-performing workplace.

Why You’ll Love Working with APL

  • Competitive remuneration that recognises your leadership impact.
  • Free Southern Cross Healthcare insurance.
  • Ongoing career growth and professional development.
  • Employee benefits and recognition for long-term service.
  • Strong focus on wellbeing — including EAP support, annual flu shots, and fresh fruit each week.

Be Part of Something Bigger

This is your opportunity to lead a high-performing team in a business that’s constantly moving forward.

If you’re an energetic, people-driven leader ready to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
