Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Set up tooling and ancillary equipment for production runs
Operate diecasting machines and supporting equipment
Load and monitor raw materials throughout production
Monitor product quality and adjust machine settings to maintain specifications
Ensure tooling is prepared for upcoming runs (cleaning, insert changes, etc.)
Use forklift and/or gantry crane to move tooling, materials, and components (where certified)
Support continuous improvement initiatives (CI & LEAN) across setup, operation, and maintenance processes
Follow all company health and safety procedures
Wear required PPE at all times
Report hazards, accidents, and near misses immediately
Skills & Experience
NZQA National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
Experience with diecasting or plastic injection moulding (preferred)
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to self-manage workload and adapt to changing priorities
Good communication and teamwork skills
Physically fit and capable of handling heavy equipment and working on your feet
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Flexibility to work occasional night or weekend shifts
