Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Maintain a high level of QC awareness and process for the products that you are working with.
Read and understand the engineering drawing of the products being manufactured and perform quality checks by measuring critical dimensions, apply engineering tolerances as appropriate to make informed quality decisions.
Perform first off and random samples during production run to ensure products being made are fit for purpose.
Continually monitor stock levels and advise purchasing staff when minimum levels are reached.
Program, setup and operate CNC machines such that parts are made on time and of the correct quality and quantity.
Improve upon machine cycle times and program paths.
Monitoring any machine faults and dealing with these accordingly.
Actively work together within the production teams and with the other Supervisors and Management staff to continually improve the APL Manufacturing business.
Assist with despatching of APLM products as needed.
Participate in daily and weekly TPM processes, and maintain clean work stations at all times.
Assist with implementing new products and processes within the team.
Proactively look for continual improvement (LEAN) by constantly looking to improve the way machines operate, are set-up, cleaned, changed over and maintained
Actively participate in Staff development including training and performance reviews.
Any other production duties or project work, as and when required by the APLM management.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualificationsandexperiencerequired
Trade qualified in an engineering discipline
Ability to read engineering drawings and understand production tolerances
Extensive and in-depth knowledge of quality assurance systems and processes
An understanding and experience on Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to self-manage your time and activities
Effective communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
Flexibility in terms of work tasks and hours
CNC Programming & CNC operation
TPM system development and execution
Ability and willingness to share knowledge and contribute ideas with colleagues
